Dorothy L. Drew, age 88 of Newport, MI passed away, Wednesday, October 31, 2007 at 6:10 PM in the Oakwood Skilled Nursing Center in Trenton, MI where she had been for 3 weeks. Dorothy had been in poor health for 3 months. Dorothy was born May 2, 1919 in Ida, MI the daughter of the late John and Lois (Haller) Murry. On October 16, 1937 in Bowling Green, OH Dorothy married Edward Charles Drew. Sadly he preceded her in death on January 29, 1973. Dorothy was a true homemaker, she enjoyed raising her children, baking, canning and cooking. She enjoyed playing cards and being with and around people. Dorothy is survived by her beloved children; Robert (Joan) of Clare, MI, Thomas (Janet) of Newport, Charles (Ruth) of Rockwood, Sidney and James of Monroe, Michael (Deborah) of Carleton, Russell of Newport, Maryann (Gene) Gennoe of Newport, Grace (Harry) Emerson of Rockwood, Ina (Pete) Burbo of Newport, Sally (Rex) Livingston of Gibraltar, Sherry (Tim) Salter of Newport, Elaine (Frank) Haliburda of Newport, Loretta (John) VanWasshenova of South Rockwood and Linda (John) Calvin of Monroe. 46 cherished grandchildren, 45 cherished great grandchildren and 4 cherished great great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband Dorothy was preceded in death by 3 children; Danny and Richard Drew and Lois Krishan, a great grandson Ethan Aldridge, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Visitation will be held on Friday from 12 - 9 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Steve Pilarsh of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Those wishing to make a memorial donation may give to a charity of their choice.
