Dorotea Garcia's Obituary
Dorotea "Dora" Jacoba Garcia, 74 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 9, 2010. Dora passed away in her home.
Dora as she was affectionately known by family and friends was born February 6, 1936 in Dolores, TX the daughter of the late Luis M. and Augustina (Soto) Garcia. Dora moved to Monroe in 1950. Also in 1950 Dora married her beloved husband Hevodio Ramirez Garcia in Indiana. Sadly, Hevodio passed away on May1 of this year.
Dora was a member of Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center. A wonderful homemaker Dora enjoyed cooking and being around her family. Dora also worked outside the home as a cook for LaFiesta and various day care centers in Temeperance, MI
Dora is survived by 13 children; David (Beverly) Garcia of Columbus, OH, Daniel Garcia of Columbus, OH, Louie (Martha) Garcia of Flat Rock, MI, Samuel Garcia of Monroe, Michael (Sara) Garcia of FL, Ramiro Garcia of Toledo, OH, Marco Garcia of Monroe, Maria DeSloover, Novi, MI, Diana ((Guillermo) Garcia of Punta Gorda, FL, Susan (Dimas) Orellana of Columbus OH, Delinda (John) Cooner of Monroe, Alisa (David) Novak of Menomonee Falls, WI and Stella Garcia of Monroe, 3 sisters; Dolores Soto of Bettsville, OH, Maria Luisa Mendez of Bettsville, OH and Rosa Garcia of Zolfo Springs, FL, 33 cherished grandchildren and 38 treasured great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Dora was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ramiro and Ramon Villareal and 5 sisters; Isabella Ariagga, Lupa Drosco, Manuela Hernandez, Maria Luisa Mendez and Rosa Garcia.
Visitation will held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM and Wednesday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 734-241-4600, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 6:00 PM also on Wednesday, December 15, 2010. The Rev. Sally Martin will officiate. Interment will be held at Restlawn Memorial Park in Perrysburg, OH on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
