Donna L. Stein, age 76, of Carleton, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023 surrounded by her family.
Donna was born June 2, 1947 in Detroit, she was the daughter of Henry and Virginia (Wegher) Olshesky. She married Harold F. Stein February 7, 1970 in the St. Mary Academy Chapel; sadly he preceded her in death March 4, 2023.
She was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary Academy and a member of the Monroe County Quilt Guild. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, traveling and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Before marriage she worked as a teller at Monroe Bank and Trust. After her marriage to Harold, she focused on raising and caring for her family. She then returned to the work force at Craft 2000 until her retirement in 2016.
Donna is survived by her three children, Joseph H. (Terry Theisen) Stein of Ypsilanti, MI, Jennifer M. Krueger of Morgan Hill, CA and Virginia E. (Neil) Szuch of Carleton; her beloved grandchildren, Cameron and Amelia Szuch; two siblings, Dale (Cathy) Olshesky of Napierville, IL and Deanna (Jim) Chinavare of Newport.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Jens Krueger.
In accordance with Donna's wishes cremation has taken place.
Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 from 11:00 am until a memorial service at 1:00 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. Chaplain Mark Loudermilk, of ProMedica Hospice, will officiate.
