Donald Ray Loyd, age 90, of Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Monroe, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2022.
Don was born March 13, 1932 in Tulsa, OK. He moved to Monroe in 1956. He owned and operated the Monroe Credit Bureau until 1989, when he retired and moved to Las Vegas.
He served his country in the US Marine Corp during the Korean War and received 2 purple hearts. He was also a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation.
Don was a member of Rotary International for more than 50 years, 30 years with the Monroe Rotary Club and 20 years with the Rotary Club of Las Vegas. He enjoyed camping, taking his motor home on trips, traveling and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Betsy Luffy-Loyd of Las Vegas, two children, Donald P. (Lori) Loyd of Highlands Ranch, CO and Lisa Loyd Goetz of Monroe; two step-children, Craig (Melissa) Windels and Renee Windels-Shiflet both of Monroe; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by two wives, Betty Loyd and Jan Loyd.
A Celebration of Life for Don will be held in the spring of 2023.
