Dolores Mae Reaume

Dolores Mae “Dee” Reaume, age 82 of South Rockwood, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas with her family at her side. Born September 5, 1933 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Dee was the daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Simmons) Gallottia. The family moved to Monroe in 1942 and Dee graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1951. After graduation, she worked as an Operator at Michigan Bell for three years. On April 18, 1953, Dee married her beloved husband, Dale I. Reaume, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Monroe. Sadly, Dale preceded her in death on August 10, 2004 after 51 years of marriage. Dee was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Newport, Michigan where she volunteered as the CYO leader for several years. Since moving to Plano in 2012, she has been an active member of the Silver Sneakers program, where she enjoyed working out regularly with other seniors at the local YMCA. She enjoyed walking at the mall, reading, doing Word Search puzzles, and making friends wherever she went. Dee was also a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker who loved cooking, baking, and caring for her family. Spending time with her family and grandchildren brought so much joy. Dee will always be remembered as a kind, loving, and thoughtful woman who deeply cared for others and cherished time spent with family and friends. She had a beautiful smile and contagious laugh that would always light up the room and endear her to others. Dee is survived by four loving daughters: Catherine J. (Rick) Didario, Jr. of Monroe, MI, Cheryl L. (Lou) Lavender of Marietta, GA, Christie A. (Jeff) Reaume-O’Brien of Waterford, MI and Carolyn D. (John) Rummel of Plano, TX; six cherished grandchildren: Ryan and Anna Lavender, Brooke and Jenna O’Brien, and Christopher and Timothy Didario; two treasured great grandchildren: Philomena (Michael) Dunn and Jeremiah Didario; and two precious great-great grandchildren: Brendan and Julianna Dunn. In addition to her parents and husband, Dee was preceded in death by four siblings: Rose Gianino, Judy Didario, Theresa Gillest, and Lewis Gallottia, Sr. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 from 1-8 p.m. at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161 where a Rosary Service will be held at 4 p.m. On Tuesday, September 29, 2015, she will lie in state at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Newport, Michigan from 10:00 am until Mass of the Resurrection celebrating her life at 11:00 a.m. Rev. James A. Smalarz, pastor, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Charles Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Charles Catholic Elementary School.
