Dolores M. Higgins, age 92 of Taylor, MI, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Aspen Grove Assisted Living in Lambertville, MI.
Born April 28, 1932 in Aliquippa, PA, Dolores was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Napoli) Valicenti.
Together with her husband Nelson and her brother Jerry, Dolores co-owned Molly Heating and Cooling in Belleville, MI where she also served as office secretary. They retired in 1994.
Dolores was a member of St. Alfred Catholic Church in Taylor, MI where she looked forward to attending Mass every week. She was known for having a great sense of humor and enjoyed baking, family gatherings, and watching Hallmark movies.
Dolores is survived by three nephews: Stan Valicenti, Sam (Linda) Sulfaro, and Robert (Tracy) Sulfaro; two nieces: Tina Mariano and Lisa Sulfaro.
In addition to her parents, Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Nelson; twin sisters, Violet Sulfaro and Julia Tromba; eight brothers: Jerry, Charles, Danny, Richard, Johnny, Jimmy, Tony, and Joe Valicenti.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Mar. 14th at Bacarella Funeral Home where a Scripture Service will be held at 6 p.m. Dolores will lie in state Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by the church pastor, Rev. Fr. Kishore Battu followed by burial at Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, MI.
Memorial donations are suggested to St. Alfred Catholic Church in Taylor or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
