Derek John Didario, 42 years, of Newport, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly from complications related to a recent open-heart surgery, on Friday, March 24, 2023 in his home.
Born August 10, 1980 in Monroe, Derek was the son of Daniel J. Didario and Denise (Hall) Trosin. Derek was a 1999 graduate of Jefferson High School where he excelled at baseball. He went on to play baseball at Orchard Lake St. Mary's College. He received his BA in Geology and Earth Science from Eastern Michigan University. Derek was employed by The Oakwood Group in Taylor, Michigan.
Derek was baptized at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed watching all types of sports, especially University of Michigan Football and the Detroit Tigers. Most of all Derek loved time spent with family, especially his son Dominic.
Derek is survived by his cherished son, Dominic John Didario, his caring parents: Daniel J. and Bethann Didario of Monroe and Denise L. and Stephen Trosin of Livonia, and six loving siblings: Shane (Leilani) Colyer of NC, Adrienne Didario of Woodhaven, Ashleigh (Darin) Didario of Monroe, Kellison (Elizabeth) Kohler of Dexter, Kory Kohler of Livonia, and Abbey (Doug) Moran of Newport.
Derek was preceded in death by his grandparents: Richard and Ann Didario and Preston and Audrey Hall.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2-8 pm at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161 where funeral services celebrating Derek's life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 12 noon. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate.
