Denise J. Lemirande, 62 years, of Carleton, MI passed away Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 10:19 AM in the emergency room at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe, MI.
Born October 3, 1950 in Milwaukee, WI, Denise was the daughter of the late Harold and Lucille (Farnberg) Lemirande. Denise was a 1969 graduate of Schaffer High School in Southgate, MI. Denise furthered her studies and received her Bachelor's of Education Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
On October 1, 2011, Denise married Daniel L. Corum in Riverview, MI. Denise and Dan celebrated their marriage by taking an Alaskan Cruise.
Denise was employed as an elementary school teacher for Monroe Public Schools, teaching at both Lincoln and Raisinville Schools for a total of 17 years. She retired in June of 2012.
Denise was a member of the Christian Science Church in Trenton, MI, she enjoyed crafts, visiting her sister in Arizona, trips to northern Michigan and spending time with family and friends.
Denise is survived by her husband Daniel, a brother: Rodger (Janet) Lemirande of Oxford, MI, a sister: Karen (Rene) Arguijo of Mesa, AZ and three nephews: Steven, Bradley and Michael Lemirande. In addition to her parents, Denise was preceded in death by a sister Janice "Trudy" Cochran.
In keeping with Denise's wishes cremation will be held and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, MI is assisting Denise's family with funeral arrangements.
