Deborah Lynn Kountouris, 64, of Monroe peacefully passed away at home surrounded by her loving family July 18,2022. She was born January 22, 1958 in Pittsburgh, PA. Debbie passed one day short of her 41st anniversary to her husband Nicholas.
Debbie worked as a florist in Pittsburgh for fifteen years then moved to Monroe, and together with her husband operated The Little Dixie Restaurant for twenty years. She then worked for Elder-Beerman/Carsons until the company closed. Her most rewarding task was being nanny to her twin grandbaby boys until she succumbed to her illness. She loved people and loved children even more.
She is survived by her husband, Nicholas; son, Dennis (Nicole) Kountouris; daughter, Alexis (Jacob) Weaks; three grandchildren, Eli, Ari and Desi Weaks; her father John Zambo; her brothers, Paul R. (Marie) Ohodnicki Sr. , Jonathan (Laura) Zambo; her sisters , Cindy (Mark) Hoffman, Kim (Gene) Sokolowski, Marsha (Donald) Cimmerman, Lisa (Joe) Michelessi.
Debbie was preceded in death by her mother Martha Zambo and brother Joseph Zambo.

Friends and Family may gather Thursday, July 21,2022 at Bacarella Funeral Home in Monroe, MI. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with funeral services performed at 1 p.m. by Rev. Fr. Rade Obsenica of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church Monroe, MI or Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral Toledo, OH.
