Dean L. Bressler, Sr., age 78 of Ida, MI, passed away Friday, June 20, 2025 at IHM Senior Living Community.
Born July 16, 1946 in Monroe, Dean was the son of the late Elwood and Evelyn (Johnson) Bressler. He graduated from Airport High School in 1964 and married Benita E. Moyers on August 6, 1966 in Monroe. Together they raised two children.
Dean began working for La-Z-Boy in 1964 until production closed in Monroe. A few years later, he went to work for Ford Motor Company at their Mazda Plant in Flat Rock where he was employed for several years before retiring.
Dean was a member of Moose Lodge 884 in Monroe and UAW Local 3000 in Woodhaven. He was an avid Detroit Sports fan and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing euchre.
Dean is survived by his wife of 58 years, Benita Bressler; daughter, Deanna (William) Sypula of Novi, MI; son, Dean (Brenda) Bressler, Jr. of Monroe; three siblings, Sharon (Gerald) Brancheau of Newport, MI, David (Kathleen) Bressler of Monroe, and Charlotte (Edward) O'Dea of Trenton, MI; five grandchildren: Erin Bressler, Erika Bressler, Ewa Sypula, Klaudia Sypula, and Nataniel Sypula.
In addition to his parents, Dean was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and John Bressler.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 25th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Dean's brother-in-law, Rev. James Moyers will officiate. Cremation with burial at Roselawn Memorial Park will be held at a later date.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Humane Society of Monroe County or to a charity of the donor's choice.
