David M. VanDemark, 49 years, of Maybee, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Born April 19, 1973 in Monroe, Dave was the son of Dennis J. and Nancy A. (Trapp) VanDemark. Dave attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1991 graduate of Monroe High School where he played football and wrestled.
For 8 years he was a diesel mechanic then moved into management for 12 years for Monroe Michigan and Toledo Ohio TA TravelCenters of America. He then went to Freightliner of Monroe where he was currently parts counter person for the shop.
Dave was a member of a Dart league in Monroe and was a huge fan of the University of Michigan Football Team. Dave will be remembered as a kind man who was always willing to help others anytime of the day or night. Most of all Dave enjoyed time spent with family.
Dave is survived by his loving companion of seven years: Erin L. Hoover whom he made his home with, his father: Dennis J. VanDemark of Maybee, four children: Derek A. VanDemark of Monroe, Samantha D. VanDemark of Monroe, Kerri L. (Craig) Command of Inkster, and Timothy W. McNarney of Maybee, four grandchildren: Shawn, Kaiha, Dylan, and Lilly, two siblings: Chad A. (Jenny) VanDemark of Monroe and Stacie L. (Chris) Adams of Fort Worth, TX, four nieces and nephews: Amanda (Nick), Brandon, Kensleigh, and Lima, and one great nephew, Jaxson. Dave was preceded in death by his mother on May 11, 2021.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161, beginning at 1:00 pm where funeral services celebrating his life will be held that afternoon at 5:00 pm. The Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate.
