David Lee Morris, age 80, of Monroe, passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in his home.

David was born April 27, 1945 in Monroe, he was the son of Harley and Martha (Knowlton) Morris. He married Sharon M. Harmon July 27, 1963, sadly she preceded him in death October 5, 2024 after 61 years of marriage.

He was a 1963 graduate of Monroe High School. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1963 to 1967.

Dave worked for Ford Motor Company Monroe Plant for many years before his retirement.

He enjoyed watching racing from going to Toledo Speedway to watching NASCAR events, he liked going to the movies and eating out. He loved the time he spent with family and especially enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by four children, Terry (Tom) Klocek, Thomas (Ai) Morris, Tresha (Brian) West and Traci (Barry Seymour) Morris; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Bob D’Haene.

In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Chelsea Klocek; two sisters, Judy Evans and Dorothy D’Haene and brother-in-law, Al Evans.

In accordance with his wishes private services have been held with interment at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe, military honors were provided by VFW Post 1138, Monroe. Bacarella Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Monroe County Humane Society.
