David L. "Buck" Johnson, 74 years of Monroe, MI. passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006 at 4:35 PM in Mercy Memorial Hospital where he had been for 2 weeks. David had been in poor health since entering the hospital. David was born November 11, 1932 in Lewisville, AR. the son of the late Ezekiel and Ruby (Kates) Johnson. David married Mildred Henry on April the 27, 1956 in Lewisville. They moved to Monroe in April of 1957. Sadly, Mildred preceded him in death on November 24, 1998. David worked as a Machine Operator for Ford Motor Company in Monroe for 30 years retiring in 1996. A member of Christian Life Center of Monroe, David enjoyed gardening, and counseling family and friends. David is survived by 9 loving children; Marcus D. (Kathryn) Johnson of Walnut, CA, Michael J. (Loriann) Johnson of Rupert, ID, Kevin (Patricia) Johnson of South Lyon, MI, Keith (Crystal) Johnson of Monroe, MI, Clifford Johnson of Monroe, MI, Audrey J. (Michael) Taylor of Seattle, WA, Brenda J. (David) Beachem of Seattle, WA, Babs D. Johnson of Monroe, MI, and Amber J. Scott of Monroe, MI., 3 brothers; Robert (Helen) Johnson of Lewisville, AR, Dean (Essie) Johnson of Lewisville, AR, Jessie (Free) Jointer of Lewisville, AR. 1 Sister; Eula Robinson of CA. Also surviving are 18 cherished grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, David was preceded in by a son Brandon Dale Johnson, his step father Ernest Jointer, and his brother Goli Johnson. Visitation for David will be held Tuesday from 2-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating his life will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Richard Williams of Cristian Life Center of Monroe will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Christian Life Center of Monroe.
