David R. "Bugs" Moran, 69 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 27, 2025, in his home. He had been in poor health for several years.
Born November 15, 1955 in Monroe, Bugs was the son of Robert J. and Marilyn A. (Shapiro) Moran. He was a 1973 graduate of Monroe High School and received his bachelor's degree from Ferris State University.
On February 24, 1978 Bugs married the love of his life, the former Diana L. Bailey, at Grace Lutheran Church in Monroe.
Bugs began working at Sieb Plumbing and Heating as an HVAC specialist. He then went to work at Monroe County Community College where he retired from in 2013 as the Maintenance Supervisor and Boiler Operator.
Bugs was a faithful member of First Church of God in Monroe. Each Sunday, he would strap his Bible to the back of his bike and pedal off to attend services. He truly loved the Lord and his church.
Bugs enjoyed building model cars and ships, watching westerns, and had great compassion for animals. He was a truly loyal and humble man who would help anyone and never wanted accolades for his kind deeds.
Bugs is survived by his beloved mother Marilyn of Monroe, the love of his life, Diana, three siblings: Karen L. (Honorable Jack) Vitale of Monroe, Thomas J. (Ruth) Moran of Monroe, and Lori S. Moran of Grand Junction, CO, two nieces, three nephews, and five great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
In keeping with his wish's cremation has been held. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2:00 pm, the family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm at First Church of God, 2121 S. Custer Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. Rev. Mike Gilbert will officiate.
