David R. Baker, age 70 of Monroe, MI, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital.

Born September 5, 1955 in Monroe, Dave was the son of the late Wilmer and Beatrice (Freeman) Baker.

Dave had a long working career in the auto manufacturing industry with Chrysler Corp, retiring in 2016.

Dave was passionate about his faith in God and enjoyed talking to others about Him. He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, mall walking, coin collecting, spoiling his granddaughter, Gabriella. He loved going out to eat, especially when his son David was paying – lol.

Dave is survived by two sons, David (Kendra) Baker of Ida, MI and Ricky (Lindsay) Naida of Trenton, MI; five siblings: Ruby Sobota of LaSalle, MI, Evelyn Everly of Monroe, MI, Bill (Leslie) Baker of Ida, MI, Tim (Beth) Baker of Belleville, MI, and Gina Grantham of Monroe, MI; three grandchildren: Gabriella Baker, Franklin Naida, and Jack Taylor.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a brother, James Baker.

Family and friends may visit from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, July 12th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev. Rick Massingill of North Monroe Street Church of God will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
