Obituary

Daniel Petree, 88, of LaSalle, MI, peacefully passed away and went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
Daniel was born on March 13, 1936 in LaSalle, he was the beloved son of George and Vina Petree.
Daniel was a hardworking individual. He attended Monroe High School and was mechanically inclined. Over the years, he worked hard to support his large family, holding various positions including equipment maintenance at Redball Moving and Storage, working for the county and for Zorn's Trucking Company. After 28 years, he retired as a diesel mechanic from Jones Transfer. He also served in the Army National Guard for four years.
Daniel enjoyed hunting and camping with his sons, and spending quality time with family and friends. His love and devotion to his wife, Ruth Joy, is a beautiful example of marriage he leaves to all his family. Most of all, Daniel loved Jesus. He was dedicated to sharing the love of Jesus with others. He taught Sunday School for 40 years and preached at revivals. He was a member of North Monroe Street Church of God Mountain Assembly for close to 25 years. Anyone could call him day or night and he would pray with them. He also visited nursing homes on behalf of the church. Daniel is known to have said about Jesus, "He is my all-in-all. Without Him, I'm nothing."
Daniel is survived and lovingly remembered by his nine surviving children and their spouses, Diane Ward, Robert and Kathy Dunn, John and Becky Dunn, Mari Dunn, Daniel and Kim Petree, Augie and Linda Petree, Patsy and Dean Duffey, Dean and Mary Petree, Dawn and Scott Stanfill, Keith and Vicki Petree; his twenty-eight grandchildren, fifty-seven great grandchildren, eighteen great-great grandchildren and many close friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Ruth (Cousino) Petree; son Michael Dunn; granddaughter, Sarah Tedrick-Petree; great granddaughter, Destinee Dunn-Miles, as well as his parents and three siblings.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 26, 2025 from 10 a.m. until funeral services at 1:30 p.m. at North Monroe Street Church of God, 2393 N. Monroe St., Monroe. Rev. Rick Massingill, pastor of the church, will officiate. Private interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
