Curtis E. Stanifer, age 44 of Ida, MI, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2026 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital.
Born October 24, 1981 in Monroe, Curtis was the son of Gregory “Randy” and Kathy (Guthrie) Stanifer. He graduated from Ida High School, Class of 2000.
Curtis was employed as a pipefitter through Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 671 and a former member of the Ida Volunteer Fire Department.
Curtis was an avid deer hunter at the family-owned property in Gladwin, MI known as Camp Wha-Who Hunt Club. He loved riding his 4-wheelers and side-by-sides. He was well known for his amazing cooking skills and recipes. He was a family man, always there to help friends and family in need. Curtis was the life of the party and always had memorable get-togethers at his house.
Curtis is survived by his parents, Randy and Kathy Stanifer; children: Walter Stanifer, Jeremiah Frederick, Kaitlen (Billy) Frederick, and Kerstin (Weston) Redmond; sister, Krystle (Kirk) Stanifer; 5 grandchildren: Claire, Sylis, Korra, Nathen, and Mariah; grandmother, Josephine Stanifer; special friend, Lauren Dubiel; furry companions, Carter, Dalton, Delilah, and Dingo; and feathered friend, his blue Macaw bird, Tokie.
Curtis was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Mildred Guthrie, and Earl Stanifer; aunts and uncles: Thomas Guthrie, Bonnie Thomas, and Bob Guthrie.
Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
