Curt Alan Nemec, age 63, of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Promedica Regional Hospital, after a hard fought battle with esophageal cancer
Curt was born September 9, 1960 in Petoskey, MI, he was the son of Frank W. and Gloria M. (Barnes) Nemec. He met the love of his life Laura L. Lambert in 1985 and they were married on August 18, 1999 in Ida. Curt and Laura were blessed to spend 38 years together as a couple and she will miss him with all her heart.
He was a 1978 graduate of Central Lake High School.
Curt worked for many years for Carpenters Union Local 687, before taking a medical retirement.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking, but the thing that Curt loved most was spending time with his family.
Curt is survived by his wife of 24 years, Laura Lambert-Nemec; a daughter, Meghan Nemec of Traverse City, a brother, Gary Nemec of Monroe and a granddaughter, Hailey Nemec; a stepson Nathan Nemec; brothers-in-law, David (Mary) Lambert and Greg (Donna) Lambert; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Dettloff and Suzanne (John) Ackerman. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, who he had a special bond with each one of them and considered them his own.
He is preceded in death by his parents, nephew, Jonathon Lambert and great niece, Mikayla Fletcher.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, with a time of sharing beginning at 4 p.m. In accordance with Curt's wishes cremation has already taken place.
