Consuelo Dono "Cholly" Flory, age 78 of Monroe, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025 in her home.
Born October 29, 1946 in Manila, Philippines, Cholly was the daughter of the late Prubencio and Patria (Ruiz) Dono. She earned a Bachelor Degree in Education and taught in Manila for ten years prior to coming to the United States. After settling in Monroe, she was employed by Meijer as a Sales Representative for many years.
On December 25, 1986, Cholly married Dan Flory in Grand Rapids, MI. Sadly he preceded her in death on July 15, 1993.
Cholly is survived by a son, Arnel Flory of Monroe; daughter, Gea Flory of Dallas, TX; three sisters, Cecilia Dono of Manila, Carmita Dono of Orangeville, Ontario, Canada, and Cynthia Marquez of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada.
In addition to her parents and husband, Cholly was preceded in death by five brothers.
Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral and cremation arrangements. All are welcome to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 8th. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10 a.m. followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11 a.m. The church pastor, Rev. Fr. David Burgard will officiate.
In honor of Cholly, the family encourages memorial donations be made to St. Mary Catholic Church.
