Obituary

Colette Welch Evans, 83 years, a lifelong resident of Monroe, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Wellspring Lutheran Services.
Born September 24, 1931 in Monroe, Colette was the daughter of the late Carl Frank and Mossie (Wilson) Welch, Sr. She attended Monroe Public Schools and was a 1950 graduate of Monroe High School.
On March 6, 1952 she married her beloved husband Clyde Evans at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, the Rev. E.E. Patterson presided at the ceremony.
Colette worked in the office at Kmart in Monroe for many years until her retirement in 1989. She was a former member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
She enjoyed reading, traveling, and had a love for all types of animals, especially watching birds and butterflies. Most of all she loved time spent with family and friends.
Colette is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Clyde, four loving children: Larry C. (Marcia) Evans of Livingston, MT, Dennis C. (Myra) Evans of Mobile, AL, Cindy J. (Eric) Eby of Lone Rock, WI and Rebecca J. (Dennis) Clark of Monroe, seven cherished grandchildren: Shawn Michael Evans, Austin Evans Eighmey, Allyson Colette Eighmey, Benjamin Clyde Eby, Melanie Lynn McAllister and Jason and Raymond Clark, seven treasured great grandchildren: Tyler, Scottie, Karlie, Drake, Dax, Dane and Jacob, and a sister: Jewel (Thomas) Connor of Monroe. In addition to her parents, Colette was preceded in death by two brothers: Frank Carl Welch, Jr. and Fred Welch and a sister: Joyce Pebley.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 3-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. John Schinkel, Chaplain at Wellspring Lutheran Services, will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Activities Department at Wellspring Lutheran Services or The Monroe County Humane Society.
