Clyde A. Knaggs Jr., age 60, a life long resident of Monroe, MI passed away, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in his home. Clyde was born March 19, 1948 in Monroe, MI the son of the late Clyde A. and Beatrice (Wilhelm) Knaggs Sr. Clyde attended Monroe Public Schools and served his country proudly as a carpenter in the US Navy. On October 8, 1987 Clyde married his beloved wife the former Linda S. Sweat in Monroe. Clyde was employed as a maintenance man for the Country Club Circle Apartments, prior to that he worked as an electrician for Elite Electric. Clyde was a former member of the Monroe County Rod and Gun Club and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. A true craftsman Clyde enjoyed carpenter work, especially remodeling old homes. He also enjoyed working in his yard. Clyde is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years Linda, 4 loving children; Jesus L. (Brigid) Martinez, Matthew M. Martinez, Georgia L. Martinez and Rebecca J. Martinez all of Monroe, 8 cherished grandchildren; Lonnie, Jesus, Antonio, Maria, Tyvonna, Da'vaughn, Santo and Sanchez; and 2 treasured great grandchildren; Julianna and Allanah. In addition to his parents Clyde was preceded in death by a grandson Rolando. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 1:00 PM. The Rev. Kenny Spain associate pastor of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe.
