Obituary

Cleve Love, age 79, of Monroe, MI passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 in Mercy Memorial Hospital after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Cleve was born May 5, 1929 in New Tazewell, TN the son of the late Arthur and Tina (Coffey) Love. On September 20, 1954 Cleve married his beloved wife the former Eileen J. Baker in Angola, IN. Cleve served his country proudly as a Private in the US Army from December 12, 1950 until December 11, 1952. Cleve was employed by Ford Motor Company for 30 years retiring as a Floor Inspector at the Monroe Plant in 1988. As a side business Cleve also owned his own concrete business. Cleve was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe. Cleve loved to talk to people and made many new friends throughout his life. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, canoeing, and traveling. Cleve and his family spent many enjoyable times at their cabin up north in Curtisville. He also enjoyed spending winters in Florida. Most of all Cleve loved spending time with his family. Cleve is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years Eileen, 3 loving children; Steve A. Love of Monroe, Janice M. (Bill) Jay of Monclova, OH, and Debra K. (John) Sexton of Dundee, MI. 6 treasured grandchildren; Alicia, James, Ashley, Sarah, Jenna, and Jessica, a brother Dan (Jeanette) Love of New Tazewell, TN and a sister Jennie Ward of Monroe. In addition to his parents Cleve was preceded in death by a sister Cynthia Parker and a brother Tom Love. Visitation will be held on Friday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where funeral services celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Jeffrey B. Walsh of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park where the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
