Claire Louise White, 83 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Fountain View of Monroe.
Born September 25, 1942 in Greenville, Iowa, Claire was the daughter of the late Nels R. and Julia E. (Anderson) Holmberg. She was a 1960 graduate of Greenville Rossie High School in Greenville.
In 1968, Claire married her beloved husband, James White, in Slater Missouri. Sadly, he preceded her in death in 1985.
Claire worked as a cook for many years at the Double Tree Hotel in Nashville, TN. She retired in 2005.
Claire enjoyed country music concerts, reading romance novels, and watching old comedies. She was also a collector of Teddy Bears and for that reason some of her friends and relatives called her Claire Bear. She was most proud of her one and only acting role where she appeared in an episode of the drama, America's Most Wanted.
Her hobbies included fishing, gardening and baking. Her granddaughters enjoyed fishing with her when they were young. She enjoyed tending to her garden consisting of assorted vegetables and many beautiful flowers. Her home was always decorated with several potted plants and seasonal flowers (and of course, teddy bears). She was an avid baker and shared many of her specialty breads and cakes with friends and family.
Claire is survived by her child: Tony (Faith) Holmberg of Monroe, two cherished grandchildren: Regina Hughes of Fleming Island, FL and Nikki Bravo of Elk Grove, CA. Six great grandchildren: Brianna, Spencer, Zachary, Alex, Isaac, and Lucy.
In addition to her husband and parents, Claire was preceded in death by her six sisters: Alice, Joyce, Jean, Shirley, Evelyn and Jolene.
In keeping with Claire's wishes cremation will be held and there will be no services
