Christine Coleman, age 57, passed away at her home in Carleton and went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2009. Christine was born July 10, 1951 in Detroit, MI the daughter of the late Charles and Lucille (Holden) Tolliver. Christine attended Detroit Public Schools and was a graduate of Cass Tech High School. On October 26, 1968 in Detroit, MI Christine married her beloved husband James A. Coleman. Christine was a homemaker and a wonderful wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother, friend and cook who loved her family, her God, and her church. Christine was a member of Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center where she served as the director of the Benevolence Program, as an usher, a missionary, and assisted with the Teens for Christ program. Christine is survived by her beloved husband James, 9 loving children; Stephen A. Coleman, Christopher P. Coleman, Robert Daniels, Davon Posey, D'Ante Posey, Keshawn Kincaid, all at home in Carleton, Tonya Coleman of Woodhaven, MI, Renee Coleman of Arkansas and Zandra Coleman of Detroit, MI. 4 cherished grandchildren; Porchia, Amber, Cody and Collin, a brother James (Carlee) Holden of Brampton, Canada, 3 sisters; Regina (Ernest) Elliott, Doreen Holden and Denise Tolliver all of Detroit. In addition to her parents Christine was preceded in death by a sister Sandra A. Holden Wilson. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 from 10:00 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center. The Rev. Sam Luke Senior Pastor of the church will officiate. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit, MI. Memorial contributions may be made directly to Christine's Family. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd in Monroe is assisting the family with arrangements.
