Charon M. Beeler, 67 years of Monroe, MI. passed away suddenly, Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 3:06 AM in Toledo Hospital. Charon was born April 6, 1939 in Monroe, MI the daughter of the late Russell C. and Ruth M. (Maurer) Minney. On November 9, 1957 Charon married James L. Beeler at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Monroe. A homemaker Charon worked as a union steward and a stock handler for Howard Ternes Packaging for 15 years retiring in 1989. Charon was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Monroe. Charon was also a member of The Mercy Memorial Hospital Guild where she mainly volunteered on the 3rd floor and the Surgery Center at the Stewart Road Facility. Charon enjoyed her grandchildren, camping and spending time at their home in Tawas City, MI. Charon is survived by her beloved husband James L. Beeler, 2 loving children; Jim R. (Tracy) Beeler and Cheri L. (Brad) Baumann both of Monroe, 4 brothers; William (Joanne) Minney of Newport, MI, John Minney of Newport, MI, James (Maria) Minney of Monroe, MI. and Edward (Patricia) Minney of Tawas City, MI. 2 sisters; Bonnie Ish of Monroe, MI, and Sandra (Carl) Feaganes of Carleton, MI. Also surviving are 3 cherished granddaughters. In addition to her parents Charon was preceded in death by 3 brothers; Russell, Thomas and Raymond Minney and 2 sisters; Charlotte Hartman and Leatrice Smith. Visitation for Charon will be held on Monday from 4-8 PM and Tuesday from 12-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home where a Scripture Service will be held Tuesday at 5 PM. Charon will lie in state on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 from 10:00 AM until a funeral Mass celebrating her life at 11:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Fr. Robert C. Mossett pastor of St. Anne's Catholic Church will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Monroe. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to Monroe Cancer Connection.
