Charles R. "Chuck" Guy, 65 years, of Monroe, MI passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in his home. Chuck was born July 6, 1944 in Monroe, the son of the late Alfred and Hallie (Leach) Guy. Chuck honorably and proudly served his country serving in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Chuck first worked for Union Camp in Monroe then he went on to work for General Motors in Trenton. Chuck started his own business, Thrifty Pallets in Carleton that he owned and operated until his retirement in 2009. On March 15, 1968 in Bertram, TX Chuck married his beloved wife the former Shirley R. Crawford. Shirley was Chuck's entire world, he absolutely adored her. Sadly, she preceded him in death on December 23, 2001. Chuck enjoyed traveling, riding his motorcycle, and going to the casino. Most of all chuck enjoyed his family. Chuck is survived by his son; Kenneth E. (Jacqueline) Guy and his daughter Hallie (David) Wendler both of Monroe, MI. 4 cherished grandchildren; Nicholas, Billy, Samantha, and Brooke, 5 brothers; Richard, Roy, Glenn, Jim, and Larry, and 4 sisters; Edna, Elsie, Eileen, and Faye. In addition to his wife and parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a son David, 2 brothers, Dewey and Ulyss, and a sister Trecie. In keeping with Chuck's wishes cremation has been held and there will be no visitation. On Saturday, March 20, 2010 at 4:00 PM all of Chuck's family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall located at 445 N. Dixie Hwy., Monroe, MI 48161. The family has suggested memorials be given to the American Cancer Society. The Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe, is assisting Chuck's family with funeral arrangements.
