Obituary

Charles R. McPeek, age 87 of Monroe, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2025 at Monroe Springs Rehab and Nursing.
Charles was born October 14, 1938 in Allen, Kentucky, he was the son of Russell Eugene "Ted" and Flossie (Conley) McPeek. He married Ruth Ann Featherstone July 15, 1961 at Monroe Missionary Baptist Church.
He was a 1957 graduate of Monroe High School where he played tennis and basketball.
Charles then served his country in the US Air Force as an Airman First Class from July 3, 1957 until his honorable discharge August 15, 1960. He was stationed in Gielstadt Germany and while he was there, he won a silver cup in a tennis tournament.
He was a tool and die maker for Ford Motor Company Woodhaven Plant for 30 years before his retirement in 1993.
Charles enjoyed golfing, running, and playing tennis. He also coached his sons little league baseball teams and loved going to his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth; three sons, Michael Ray (Pam) McPeek of Sylvania, Mark Eugene (Dione) McPeek of Monroe and Kevin Lee McPeek of Monroe; one sister, Joan Hudkins of Monroe; four grandchildren, Rusty McPeek, Dayton (Val) McPeek, Michael (Cassie) McPeek and Heather (Jon) Metzger; four greatgrandchildren, Waylon, Josie, Lasarina and Sunny Rose.
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Iona Riggs.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 from 11 a.m. until funeral services begin at 2 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe. Jeff Green will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Memorial contributions are suggested to VFW Post 1138, Monroe or Heartland Hospice.
