Carrie Ellen Braden, age 90, of Monroe, MI passed away Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 1:45 AM in Mercy Memorial Hospital. Carrie was born November 26, 1917 in Sharps Chapel, TN the daughter of the late Wilburn and Roxy (Brandenburg) Williamson. On May 28, 1936 Carrie married her beloved husband Conrad P. Braden in Maynardville, TN. The couple moved to Monroe and made their home here two days after their wedding. Sadly Conrad passed away on October 13, 1972. A homemaker, Carrie enjoyed vegetable gardening, reading her Bible and crossword puzzles. Above all Carrie enjoyed her family and always showed her concern for others. Carrie is survived by her 8 loving children; Ron (Pat), of Temperance, MI, Johnny C., Vernon P. (Sharon), Norman D. (Lori) all of Monroe, Marvin H. (Rita) of Lorain, OH, Lavana (Robert) D'Arpini, Anita and Aileen Braden also of Monroe, 2 daughters in law; Wilma and Pat Braden of Monroe, 29 cherished grandchildren, 26 treasured great grandchildren and 2 treasured great great grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude and send a special thank you to Della Martin who was Carrie's care giver and friend. In addition to her parents and husband Carrie was preceded in death by 2 sons; Otis and Arvil Braden, a grandson, and 9 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2008 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Von Loop pastor of Frenchtown Missionary Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
