Carolyn Jean Ramsey, 76 years, of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 1, 2014 in her home.
Born April 3, 1938 in Dundee, Michigan, Carol was the daughter of the late Carl Henry and Mildred (Panck) Orns. Carol attended Ida Public Schools and in 1958 married William H. Ramsey, Sr. in Monroe.
Carol was employed by La-Z-Boy in Monroe as a seamstress at the Weiss Plant. She then went on to work for 20 years at McDonalds in Monroe, from which she retired in 1989.
A member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Carol enjoyed sewing, arts and crafts, cooking and baking, word puzzles and her granddogs. Most of all Carol loved being with her loving family.
Carol is survived by two loving sons: William H. (Tammy) Ramsey, Jr. and David J. (Julie) Ramsey both of Monroe, four cherished grandchildren: Heather Hicks, Lisa Bracken, Tegan Ramsey, and James Ramsey, seven treasured great grandchildren: William, Joshua, Leah, Elizabeth, Chelsea, Carter, and Charlie, a brother: Steven D. Orns of Toledo, OH, two sisters: Alice Lucille Clark and Pauline Grace Orns both of Monroe and Carol's longtime companion Stanley Walentowski. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Moore and two brothers: Harold Carl and Charles H. Orns.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2014 from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, Michigan, 48161. In keeping with Carol's wishes cremation will follow.
