Carol A. Ziegler, age 79 of Monroe, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.
Born April 19, 1944 in Monroe, MI, Carol was the daughter of the late Walter and Helena (Molenda) Miekos. She attended St. Patrick Grade School and Huron High School.
On April 20, 1985, Carol married David J. Ziegler, Sr. at Trinity Lutheran Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed being with her family and playing slot machines at area casinos. She will always be remembered by her family as being a wonderful caregiver to her mother.
Carol is survived by her husband Dave; 5 children, Sherry Mackey of Lambertville, Theresa Russeau of Monroe, David Ziegler, Jr. of Monroe, Annette (William) Moore of Monroe, and Kimberly (Richard) DiCarlo of Monroe; brother, Walter (Sandy) Miekos of Monroe; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Donald Miekos, and sister, Nancy Dye.
Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of funeral at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Detruf will officiate followed by burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Carleton, MI.
