Carol Marie Juskusky of Newport, MI, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Corewell Health Trenton after a sudden illness. She was 88.

Carol was born August 7, 1938, in Kansas. She was the daughter of Rev. Stanley F. and Lucille Geis. She was married twice, first to James Earnest Weaver, with whom she had three wonderful sons before he passed away unexpectedly in 1986, then to Donald Juskuski for 25 years before he preceded her in death on October 19, 2021.

Carol’s passion was taking care of her family. She was the loving mother of three sons, Douglas, James, and Timothy Weaver. She spent many years building a caring, happy home for her family. After the unexpected death of her first husband, Carol became a teller at a Federal Credit Union—a position she maintained for over 20 years before her retirement. Carol continued to care for others her whole life, joyfully helping to raise her only grandson (even though her son had by then moved to southern Virginia).

When she wasn’t taking care of others, Carol could often be found channeling her immense creativity into her music. Carol was a member of First Baptist Church of Wyandotte, where she sang in the choir and played the organ for over 20 years. Music was everything to Carol, who instilled in her sons and grandson a lifelong love of musical expression, especially singing. She also enjoyed expressing herself through her crafts, often immersing herself in a wide variety of artistic projects over the years.

She is survived by her grandson, Michael Justin Weaver, and her sister, Sandra Kaye Mallorey-Smith.

In addition to her husbands, she is preceded in death by her parents; her sons, James and Timothy Weaver; and her two brothers, Stanley J. and Lymond M. Geis.

In accordance with Carol’s wishes, her body has been cremated. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family.
