Carol June Irvin – Reimel, 73 years, of Taylor, Michigan, formerly of Monroe, Michigan, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2014 in her home with her family at her side. She had been in declining health for the past seven years.
Born October 23, 1940 in Detroit, Carol was the daughter of the late John F. and Dorothy Helen (Hirt) Straver. Carol was a 1958 graduate of Allen Park High School and went on to attend college where she studied accounting.
Carol first married James A. Bossick, after his death she married Ronald L. Irvin on February 11, 1978 in Monroe, he too passed away on March 24, 2002. On July 23, 2005 Carol married Robert W. Reimel in Taylor, Michigan.
Carol worked as an accountant for several companies in Monroe and the down river area until she retired from Mans Lumber.
She was a former member of both Trinity Lutheran Church in Monroe and Mount Hope Lutheran Church in Allen Park, Michigan. Carol enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar, ceramics, sewing, photography, and painting. Most of all Carol enjoyed time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her beloved husband Bob, two loving daughters: Deborah J. (Mark) Smith of Newport, MI, and Michelle M. (Anthony) Giannola of Woodhaven, MI, nine cherished grandchildren: Cristina, Ann, Erika, Randi, John, Joe, Brittany, Karl, and Angie, 11 treasured great grandchildren and a sister Beverly (Tom) Cashen of Minden, NV. In addition to her parents and husbands, Carol was preceded in death by a sister: Joy Blevins.
In keeping with Carol's wishes she will be cremated. Her family will greet friends on Saturday August 2, 2014 from 3:00 PM until a memorial service celebrating her life at 4:00 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, MI, 48161.
