Carol A. Carle, age 89 of Monroe, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital after becoming seriously ill at home.
Born September 22, 1933 in Monroe, Carol was the daughter of the late Leo and Grace (Wickenheiser) Meyer. She graduated from St. Mary Academy in 1951 and married Jack C. Carle on May 12, 1956 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Together, they raised four daughters. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1994.
Carol was employed for many years by Monroe Public Schools as an Administrative Assistant. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and its Catholic Christian Women group (Altar Society).
Carol is survived by her children: Michelle (Phil) Weibold of Bonita Springs, FL, Lora (Mike) Magyar of Gainsville, GA, Anita (Jeff) Stewart of Archbold, OH, and Lisa (Scott) Fanslaw of Monroe; 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was also preceded in death by a sister, Velma Vajcner and a brother, Marvin Meyer.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27th at Bacarella Funeral Home where the Rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. by the church Christian Women group. Carol will lie in state at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Church. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by the church pastor, Rev. Fr. Kishore Battu followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family recommends supporting St. Michael Catholic Church or any hospice organization of the donor's choice. They also extend heartfelt gratitude to mom's private caregivers, Karen Issa and Mary Swinney for the loving care given to Carol.
