Carl F. Fairchild, 55, of Monroe, passed away in his home at 1 AM, Friday, May 11, 2007. He had been in poor health for 2 ½ years and seriously ill for 6 months. He was born August 22, 1951 in Monroe to Francis E. and Violet M. (Stihler) Fairchild. A lifetime resident of Monroe, he was a 1969 graduate of Monroe High School. Shortly thereafter, he went to work at Ford Motor Company, Monroe, where he was employed for 35 years, retiring April 1, 2006. An electrician, he completed his apprenticeship in 1979 as an Industrial Electrician. He was married to the former Carol Lynn Arnold on September 13, 1991 in Monroe. Carl enjoyed fishing, bowling, and golf. Survivors include his parents, of Monroe, his wife, 3 sons, Chad Michael (Melissa) Fairchild of Monroe, Thomas Lee Fox of Newport, and William Curtis Fox of Monroe, 2 daughters, Jennifer Renee Fairchild of Adrian and Jadelynn Kember Fox at home, 2 brothers, Paul (Prudy) and Jim (Karen) Fairchild of Monroe, and a sister, Kathy Fairchild of Monroe, and 7 cherished grandchildren. Friends may call at the Bacarella Funeral Home from 12-6 PM Monday. Funeral services celebrating his life will be at 6 PM Monday at the funeral home officiated by Rev. Evans C. Bentley of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Memorial gifts in his name may be given to the Humane Society of Monroe County.
