Brenda G. Prewitt, 61, of Monroe, passed away at 7:28 PM, Sunday, November 18, 2007 in the Toledo Hospital where she had been since November 15th. She had valiantly battled cancer for the last two years. She was born on Thursday, November 14, 1946 in CaneBrake, WV to George and Lola (Curry) Fletcher, they moved to Monroe when she was a child. A 1964 graduate of Monroe High School, she married Robert R. Prewitt on June 13, 1964 in Monroe. Brenda was a homemaker and a very active member of the Bible Fellowship Church, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was a day care worker, and helped host funeral luncheons, among many other things. At home she enjoyed gardening, yard work, flowers, and spending time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her cherished husband, Robert, her mother, Lola, her brother, James (Wanda) Fletcher of Monroe, her nieces and nephews, John Ferguson, Jamie Fletcher, Rhonda (Mike) Weithman, and Amy (Justin) Boyd, and her great nieces, Jennifer Morgan and Bella Boyd. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her son Randall on April 8, 1965, and her father on July 22, 1976. The family will greet friends at the Bacarella Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1-8 PM. She will lie in state Wednesday at the Bible Fellowship Church from 10 AM until funeral services celebrating her life at 11 AM. The Revs. Eugene White and Randy Pierce will officiate and burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Memorial gifts in her name may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
