Bonita V. Cole, age 96 of Lake Jackson, TX, formerly of Monroe, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022 at the home of her daughter Margaret Hill.

Born on July 3, 1925 in Speedwell, TN, Bonita was the daughter of the late Robert and Emma (Davis) Turner. She was first married to Malcolm Meek and later married Troy E. Cole on July 3, 1990 while residing in Phoenix, AZ. Sadly, he preceded Bonita in death on May 3, 2013.

A member of the United Pentecostal Church, Bonita was a member of Monroe Apostolic Church and Christian Tabernacle Church in Angleton, TX. Her favorite hobbies included sewing and reading.

In addition to her parents and husband, Bonita was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clyde and Oscar Turner; four sisters, Clercie Williamson, Nell Moore, Alma Wilson, and Mamie Short; grandson, Jeremy Wade Hill; and son-in-law, James Hill. She is also survived by a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends may visit from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10th at Bacarella Funeral Home. Rev. Roy Southerland will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the National Kidney Foundation.
