Bobbie Ruth Carroll, 81 years, of Monroe, MI went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 2010 with her loving family at her bedside. Bobbie Ruth passed away at The Lutheran Home where she had been for the past 6 years. Bobbie Ruth was born July 21, 1928 in Middlesboro, KY the daughter of the late Joseph and Dora Ethel (Clarkson) Burchette. On June 14, 1947 in Napoleon, OH Bobbie Ruth married her beloved husband Emmitt E. Carroll. Sadly, he preceded her in death on February 10, 1996 after 48 years of marriage. Bobbie Ruth moved to Monroe in 1943 and worked as a housekeeper for the Lutheran Home for 20 years, until her retirement on August 1, 1993. Bobbie Ruth was a member of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking, shopping and watching her sons play music in their band. Above all Bobbie Ruth was a wonderful mother and loved being with her family. Bobbie Ruth or "Nanni" as she was affectionately known is survived by 5 loving children; Emmitt A. (Aimee L.) Carroll of Monroe, Victor T. (Caroline) Carroll of Monroe, Imelda P. (William) Call of Newport, Deanna S. (Randall) Larsh of Flat Rock, and Jennifer "Ginger" (Larry) Hensley of Monroe, 13 cherished grandchildren, 22 treasured great grandchildren, and 2 caring brothers James V. "Birdie" (Hazel) Burchette and J. Leon (Laura) Burchette both of Monroe. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3-9 PM at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., in Monroe where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, April 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Louie Barnett of Eagles Nest Community Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
