Bobbie Christine Burke, age 89, of Monroe was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 surrounded by her family.

Bobbie was born April 8, 1937 in Harrogate, TN, she was the daughter of Franklin R. and Nola Marie (Williams) Gilbert. She married JC Burke on September 2, 1956 in Claborne County, TN, in just two weeks they would have celebrated their 70th anniversary.

A 1955 graduate of Forge Ridge High School, Harrogate. Once married the couple moved to Monroe where they raised their family. Bobbie was a dedicated homemaker and believed in doing whatever she could to care for her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her; she made sure she was always there to take care of them.

Bobbie was an active member of Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church, she enjoyed singing in the choir and serving in children’s ministries.

She is survived by her husband, JC Burke; her loving children, Todd James (Sarah) Burke of Walbridge, OH and Crystal Sue (Tim) Kelley of Monroe; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Katherine, Aaron, Brent, Jena, Jacob and Kyle; ten great grandchildren, Jacob, Cameron, Karson, Rowan, Oliver, Allie Grace, Sarai, Kaden, Addie and Blake and son-in-law, Kirt Bausman.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Vickie M. Mansfield-Bausman; great granddaughter, Andrea Bower; ten siblings, Edith Brooks, Opal Sandefur, Geneva Shackelford, Roy Gilbert, Harry Gilbert, Thelma Ray, Marvin Gilbert, Itha Bea Monday, Burton Gilbert and Frankie Crawford.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2026 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where services will begin at 6 p.m. Rev. Larry Head, pastor of Lakeside Missionary Baptist Church, will officiate. Private entombment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
