Bob Wayne O'Dell, age 83, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Monroe ProMedica Regional Hospital.
Bob was born August 9, 1941 in Bay City, Michigan. He was the son of Wier Edmond and Josie (Henry) O'Dell. He married Claudette Kay Monday Juny 8, 1961 in Monroe; sadly, she preceded him in death on November 20, 2011 after celebrating 50 years of marriage.
He was a 1959 graduate of Monroe High School.
Bob served his country in the US Army from August 22, 1963 until his honorable discharge on August 21, 1966.
He loved the dogs he had had through the years, enjoyed classic cars, learning and using new technology and being with family and friends
Bob worked for many years at Toledo Scale and then worked in maintenance at CSDD.
He is survived by a son, Robert B. O'Dell of Newport; siblings, Judy Shinevarre of Monroe and Larry O'Dell of Texas; granddaughter, Tiffani O'Dell and great-grandchildren, Ryker O'Dell and Zailee Gish.
In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Tyler Jonathon O'Dell.
Visitation will be held Sunday, December 22, 2024 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday Rev. Alfred Whitaker, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
