On February 8, 2023, surrounded by her family, Beverly Jean (Goins) Lands got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 82 years old.
Born in Monroe, Michigan, Bev was one of three children born from the union of the late Hobert and the late Coralee (Wylie) Goins. Beverly attended Monroe High School.
Beverly worked at Frenchtown Nursing Home and Fountain View of Monroe for more than 30 years and spent her whole life worshiping at North Monroe Street Church of God. She spent the last three years as a resident of Medilodge of Monroe.
Family meant everything to Beverly. She enjoyed going to church, making up her own songs, sporting events, animals, puzzles, day trips to The Cascades in Jackson, watching Jeopardy and feeding the squirrels.
She taught us many valuable lessons, among them included: duct tape and zip ties really do fix everything, be happy with what you have, live each moment, carry around a pinch-em-get'er everywhere you go, and be sure to keep a Dum-Dum Sucker in your pocket - just in case.
Bev was kind, soft spoken and extremely funny. She always had time to listen and loved having company. She invariably found a way to bring a smile to everyone's face.
She will forever be remembered by her surviving family: Daughter, Sandra McNew, her Son-In-Law: Stephen McNew and grandchildren: Cole McNew, Jimi McNew, Cade McNew, and German granddaughter, Selina Mikulla. Beverly is also survived by her sister-in-law's: Shirley Goins and Jennifer Goins. In addition to her parents, her passing is preceded by her brothers: Donald Goins and Timothy Goins.
Friends my gather from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, February 17, 2023, at North Monroe Street Church of God with a Celebration of Life immediately following at noon. Reverend Rick Massingill will be officiating. Bacarella Funeral Home is assisting the family with cremation and funeral arrangements.
