Obituary

Betty J. Webb, age 91 of Monroe, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025 in her home.
Born February 4, 1934 in Monroe, Betty was the daughter of the late Verlin and Aslee (Chapman) Goins. She married Eugene Webb on October 15, 1954 in Angola, IN. Together they raised four children. Sadly, he preceded Betty in death on August 25, 2014.
Betty was an active member of Heritage Baptist Church where she was known as the "Candy Lady" and enjoyed attending senior events. As former members of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church, Betty and Eugene were instrumental in the Wednesday Night Dinner program which was affectionately known as Webb's Country Kitchen. Her personal hobbies included baking, cooking, crocheting, and time spent playing card and board games with her family.
Betty is survived by her children: Rick (Heidi) Webb, Pam Fosselman, Dawn (Steve) Jones, and Mark (Kathryn) Webb, all of Monroe; four siblings: Evelyn Monaghan of Monroe, Bob (Judy) Goins of AZ, Jerry (Pam) Goins of CA, and Maryellen Cooke-Rippy of CA; eight grandchildren: Josh (Jenna) Webb, Micah (Grace) Webb, Danielle (Brandon Ward) Corbin, Amber (Aaron) Coch, Ashley (Ryan) Crandall, Allison Jones, Hannah (Brendan) Byxbe, and Laurel (Jared) Hiebert; nine great-grandchildren: Nathan and Nolan Ward, Tyler, Gracie and Carlie Crandall, Kennedy Dawn Coch, Josephine, Nora and Ramona Rey Webb… and soon to arrive, Baby Hiebert; and Ron Crumley of Monroe, her companion of the past 8 years.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by eight siblings: Homer Goins, Grace Haygood, Willean Asher, Juanita Hopkins, Norma Click, Jack J.D. Goins, Donna Mae Sharp, and Kenneth Goins.
Family and friends may visit from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 31st at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1st. Rev. Nate Click, pastor of Heritage Baptist Church will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial donations be made to Heritage Baptist Church or Taylor's Home Health From Heart to Home, c/o 108 Cole Rd., Monroe, MI 48162.
The family would like to thank Taylor Gildersleeve who became like family to them after caring for their mom the past two years. Also, Janet Kennedy and Cheryl Kerckes for their compassionate assistance these past few weeks.
