Obituary

Betty L. Durocher, age 94, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Trinity Health, Ypsilanti. Betty was born July 15, 1930 in Monroe to Harold and Lucille (DeVillier) Foster.
Betty graduated from Monroe High School in 1948 and helped with the Class of '48 reunion committee. Betty worked for Jones Transfer for many years; afterward, she sold real estate for Foster Realtors, Inc. She co-founded Monroe Town and Country Garden Club. Betty was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church by playing in the bell choir, greeting mass goers at the entrance, helping with funeral luncheons, and counting donations. She enjoyed her membership with the Monroe Soroptimist Club, Sawyer Homestead, and Mercy Hospital Guild, and she served as a Campfire leader.
Betty cherished her family and treasured spending time with them. She is survived by her five children, Howard (Fay), Laurie (Tom Lopez) Durocher, Lisa, Chris, and Mary Beth (Ed) Abramoski. She will be remembered fondly as Mimi by her nine grandchildren, Donald (Vanessa), Jeremiah (Laura), Lucinda, Paul Christian (Erica) Shiflet, Kate, Corinne, Alyssa (Paul) Graf, Kathryn (Paul) Hughesdon and Joseph Abramoski, and her eight great grandchildren, Mary-Marie, Lilly-Ann, Harrison, Connor, Madeleine, Eleanor, Clara, and Luca. She will be missed by her brother Jack (Carol) Foster. She is preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Collin and her brother, Fred Foster.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Bacarella Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. She will lie instate Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of the Resurrection at 10:30 a.m. Private burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Betty's memory are suggested to St. John the Baptist Church or Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
