Bertha Mae "Beth" Vernatter, 32 years, of Monroe, MI passed away Friday, October 23, 2009 in her home. Beth was born November 23, 1976 in Pike County, KY the daughter of Roy "Rip" O. and Mildred "Mig" (Hankins) Vernatter. The family moved to Monroe in 1983 and Beth attended Monroe Public Schools where she received her GED. Beth was employed by Monroe Public Schools as a bus driver for 5 years. Beth was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Monroe where she sang in the choir and attended women's bible study groups. Beth enjoyed various types of crafts. Above all, Beth was a devoted and dedicated mom. Beth is survived by her son Aaron Vernatter and her mother Mig Vernatter. Sadly, her father Rip and her infant brother William Roy Vernatter preceded her in death. Visitation will be held on Monday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Duane Ware, pastor of Heritage Baptist Church will officiate. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beth's family.
