Obituary

Beth Ann Gessner, 58, of Amble went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 27, 2009. Beth was born on October 9,1951to Robert and Mary (Bozick) Gessner in Monroe, Michigan. Beth attended Jefferson High School and graduated in 1969. She was warmly cared for by countless, dedicated staff and home caregivers, through the Montcalm Behavioral Center. Beth enjoyed crocheting, calligraphy and loved God with all her heart. She was a very social and kind-hearted person; she especially enjoyed spending time with people, and sitting in quiet places reading her bible. Beth is survived by her brothers and sisters, Robert G. Gessner, Jr. of Monroe, MI, Mark Gessner of Toledo, Ohio, Jean (Gessner) and Joseph LaRoy of Erie, MI, Mary C Gessner of Morenci, MI, and Richard D. Gessner of Monroe, MI, sister-in laws Lynnell (Baumgartner) Gessner, and Collette (O'Brien) Gessner, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She will be sadly missed by loving cousins, who Beth grew up with; Christina (Balk) Cvengros and Patricia (Balk) Lones, and who were like sisters to Beth. Beth was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son, Christopher Joseph; brothers, James and Joseph Gessner; and the loving aunt and uncle who raised her, Bernard and Kathleen (Gessner) Balk, and cousin, James Balk. A funeral service for Beth was held at the Brigham Funeral Chapel in Edmore on Thursday for friends, family and caregivers there. A service and interment will take place Monday, January 4, 2010 at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 in the St Joseph Chapel. A service at 2 will be officiated by Pastor John Piippo. There will be a luncheon on the smaller side of La Roy's Hall from 3-5.Online Condolences for the family may be sent to www.bacarellafuneralhomecom .
