Obituary

Bernard C. "Benny" Pawlowski, Sr., 85 years, of Carleton, Michigan went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 18, 2022 in his home.
Born February 25, 1937 in Hamtramck, MI, Benny was the son of the late Bernard James and Elenore (Korzym) Pawlowski. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Hedwig High School in Detroit.
Benny served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Navy as a flight deck operator aboard the USS Wasp during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
On January 26, 1968 Benny married his beloved wife, the former Brenda G. Sine, in Warren, MI. Sadly, she preceded him in death on September 25, 2021 after 53 years of marriage.
Benny was employed as an electrician for Chrysler Corporation for 45 years. He worked at both the Hamtramck and Jefferson plants, from which he retired in 2002.
Benny was a devout Catholic and was a member of Divine Grace Parish, Carleton Campus. He was both baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith and regularly attended Saturday Evening Mass. He enjoyed, cooking, woodworking, gardening, stained glass work, and watching movies and television. For many years one of his favorite traditions was attending deer camp in November.
Benny is survived by his beloved son; Bernard C. "Bernie" Pawlowski, Jr of Carleton, a stepson; Tony S. (Mary) Owen of Hopskin, SC, four treasured grandchildren: Justin, Danielle, Reece, and Rachel; two cherished great grandchildren; longtime family friend and caretaker, who Benny and Brenda thought of as a daughter, Rickie LeGendre. In addition to his wife and parents, Benny was preceded in death by a daughter Suzan Cosby and a brother Jerry.
On Saturday, July 23, 2022 Benny will lie in state at Divine Grace Parish, Carleton Campus, 2996 W. Labo Rd. Carleton, MI, 48117, beginning at 10:00 am followed mass of the Resurrection celebrating his life at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery, where the VFW Post 1138 will conduct military honors.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Divine Grace Parish, Carleton Campus.
