Obituary

Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Lambert, age 77 of Monroe, passed away peacefully Monday, December 25, 2023 at University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 2, 1946 in Middletown, Ohio, Frank was the son of the late Benjamin and Wanda (Hizar) Lambert. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1965 where he played the trumpet in the high school band. On April 1, 1967, he married Sharon K. Kinsey at Zion Lutheran Church. Together they raised two children.
Frank was employed by Consumer Energy as a Fuel Handler, retiring after 20+ years of service. His prior work experience was with La-Z-Boy of Monroe, Laborers Union during the construction of the Fermi Power Plant, and he could also be heard weekends on the WVMO Radio Station as a Disc Jockey.
Frank had a lot of hobbies and interests, most of which involved his family. When his kids were little, he coached girls softball and boys baseball. Whenever possible, Frank attended or supported his children's and grandchildren's interests and sporting events.
To say Frank was an avid golfer would be an understatement. He enjoyed the game so much he even made his own golf clubs. He was also an avid University of Michigan Football fan and follower of the Detroit Tigers. Other personal interests included deer and small game hunting, woodworking, and family vacations. In his younger adult years, he enjoyed drag racing at Milan Dragway.
Frank is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Lambert; daughter, Kelly (Elvis Paulun) Lambert of Toledo, OH; son, Mark (Sarah) Lambert of LaSalle, MI; sister, Gail (Roger) Sonnett of Ann Arbor, MI; 4 grandchildren: Jenna, Olivia, Hailey, and Emily; 4 nieces and nephews: Steve (Karen), Tauna (Brad), Michele (Kristen), Paul (Jill); and several great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will be privately attended by family at Roselawn Memorial Park.
For anyone interested in making a donation in memory of Frank, the family suggests supporting Gabby's Ladder or the Humane Society of Monroe County.
