Barbara J. Burt, 76 years, of Monroe, MI passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 1:00 AM in Mercy Memorial Hospital in Monroe.
Born January 27, 1935 in Newport, TN, Barbara was the daughter of the late Allen and Ally (France) Hance. Barbara moved to Monroe in the early 1950's.
On June 5, 1954, in Monroe, Barbara married her beloved husband Eugene S. "Punk" Burt Sr. Sadly he passed away only a few months ago on March 23 of this year.
Barbara worked for Foam Rubber Company in Monroe for 10 years and for Federal Mogul in Milan for 15 years from which she retired in 1992.
Barbara enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, canning, making jams, watching humming birds and quilting.   Although Barbara worked outside her home she was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed being with and taking care of her late husband, and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by 3 loving children; Pat A. (Allan) Biedlingmaier, Tina D. (Luis) Alamo and Eugene S. (Shawna) Burt Jr. all of Monroe, 10 cherished grandchildren; Jason, Justin, and Carlina, Alamo, Joni and Erich Biedlingmaier, Tabitha Burt, Ben and Alyssa Collingsworth, Kellie Toeppe and Jesse Biedlingmaier, 12 treasured great grandchildren, a brother Rufus Hance of Newport, TN and a sister Mary Kate Pack of Dandridge, TN. In addition to her beloved husband of almost 57 years and her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter Eugenia Collingsworth, 4 brothers and a sister.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-8 PM in the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd. in Monroe, where funeral services celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Von Loop will officiate. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
