Barbara Ann Brown, age 88, of Monroe, passed away Monday July 8, 2024 in her home surrounded by her family.
Barbara was born June 2, 1936 in Monroe, she was the daughter of Arthur and Audry (Newberry) Dunaway. She married Charles Lewis Brown March 15, 1955, he preceded her in death December 30, 2003.
She was a 1954 graduate of Monroe High School and went on to obtain her LPN certificate. She worked for Monroe County Mental Health Authority as a caregiver for many years, retiring in 1997.
Barbara enjoyed gardening and loved to spend time with her family.
She is survived by her seven children, Rick (Patricia) Brown of Monroe, David (Debbie) Brown of LaSalle, Lori (David) Stadler of LaSalle, Sherri Napolski of Toledo, Michael (Lisa) Brown of Monroe, Susan Mitz of Temperance and Lisa (Jim) Watson of Aguanga, CA; a stepsister, Donna Brancheau of Monroe; 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, grandson and great granddaughter.
Visitation will be held Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 12 noon until funeral services begin at 2 p.m. at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Road, Monroe. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
The family suggests memorial contributions in her memory be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
