Arthur L. Cote, 62, of Luna Pier passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family at 4:51 PM, on Monday, December 3, 2007. He had been in poor health since 2003 and seriously ill for 2 years. He was born February 22, 1945 in Monroe, MI to Joseph and Marie (Beck) Cote. A lifetime resident of the area, he married Lorraine Lawson on April 22, 1963 in Monroe. At one time he worked at Hull Road Auto Parts, Meijer, Greenings Nursery, Frenchtown Square Mall, K-Mart, and Ace Paper, in maintenance or as a laborer. Arthur enjoyed repairing lawnmowers and working on cars, bird watching, boat building, collecting model cars, and especially just helping others. He leaves to mourn his wife and caregiver, Lorraine Cote, son, Arthur J. (Laura Becker) Cote III of Monroe, daughter and grandchildren, Susan Cote Taylor, and Tiffany and Travis of Toledo, brother-in-law, David (Ann) Lawson of Monroe, cousins, Victor Cote of Florida, Billie (Bud) Spangler of Indiana, and Raymond Kinley, aunt, Isabelle Cote of Erie, uncle, Charles Cote of Florida, and a sister, Dorothy Bruckner. Sadly, his parents and mother and father-in-law, Arthur (Lillie) Lawson, preceded him in death. Visitation will be held Wednesday at the Bacarella Funeral Home from 10 AM until 9 PM. His funeral service, conducted by his family and friends, will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 PM, with burial following at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
