Arbie Franklin Rice, age 84, of Monroe, passed away Monday, April 6, 2026 in his home surrounded by his family.
Arbie was born February 1, 1942 in Tazewell, TN, he was the son of Charles and Rose (Daniels) Rice. He married Elizabeth "Liz" Carter August 25, 1959.
Arbie was self employed and had also worked at Steel Castings, Snow's Nursery and Midwest Fleet through the years.
He attended Breast Bay Baptist Church and loved to play the guitar and sing at churches in the area. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his family.
Arbie is survived by his wife of 66 years, Liz; three children, Carol Ann Rice, Billy Joe Rice and Michael Dwayne Rice all of Monroe; three siblings, Shirley Wiley, Jeanne Cosby and Wanda Rice; seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son Arbie Franklin Rice; six siblings, Harley, Joey, Winford and Frank Rice; Geraldine Gee and Dorothy Bussell.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2026 at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., Monroe, where funeral services will held Monday at 11 a.m. Rev. B.J. McDaniel, pastor of One Way Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Monroe.
